The Trump administration has asked a federal appeals court to block a judge’s order to distribute November’s full SNAP benefits during a U.S. government shutdown

The programme has been left in limbo during the US government shutdown, with the White House saying it can't afford it.

The Trump administration is appealing a judge's order for it to provide full SNAP food aid benefits to states by Nov. 7.

The Trump administration asked a federal appeals court to block a judge's order that the U.S. Department of Agriculture provide full November food stamp benefits to 42 million low-income Americans. U.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson temporarily froze a lower court order for full federal food benefits, called SNAP, for 41 million.

A federal judge ordered the USDA to fully fund SNAP benefits for November despite a government shutdown. The judge ruled that the Trump administration was withholding funds for political reasons. The USDA argued that fully funding SNAP would put Child Nutrition Programs at risk.
